H&M - India Launch

Ever wondered how it feels to be at the launch event of a renowned multinational clothing brand? No? I will tell you how. Swedish Multinational Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M), the second-largest clothing brand, opened up its first-ever store in India on October 2, 2015, and it was a jam-packed event. It is as exciting to hear as it was to witness the launch, among loud music and crowd frenzy. H&M, a gigantic name in the world of fashion, attracted not only the public but also the big names in the Indian fashion industry – it was everything you expect and even more.

The brief for this shoot went like this - a video of an extravagant launch and also a chance to cover my own city. Truth be told, it couldn’t have gotten any better. I knew before I started this project meant a complete job satisfaction. I remember the first day of sale - people were bouncing off the walls to grab the first collection and for that, they queued up outside the store as early as 4 in the morning. It was madness, not the one that makes you worried but the one that gets you excited too. So what makes H&M so special? Excellent quality of clothes and accessories at a very reasonable price. Perfect for India. And also not to forget the first few customers were given gift vouchers and goodie bags.

The launch event was no less madness either, except there were no queues but a very exclusive red carpet. It could have easily been mistaken for a Bollywood party! Popular DJs playing music, Bollywood celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon, Tamanna Bhatia and many more walking on the red carpet, fashion designers and models showing up to have a look at the collection and (surprise, surprise) the crowd cheering at the top of their voices.

It was such a fun experience and one of my favourite projects that remind how much I love this job! Forever grateful to my team for being so co-operative and working so hard to make this video not just a success, but also a beautiful memory!
